Installation
World of Bats Lanterns
In partnership with the Denver Botanic Gardens, I was asked to support and promote a pollinator of my choice with this sustainable design project. Because bats are nocturnal creatures, I wanted to construct outdoor lanterns that were as beautiful to see during the day as they were at night. These sustainably designed lanterns are suspended from the trees, where bats often live during the day and night.
This installation was fabricated from found, locally sourced, and recycled materials. Materials like bamboo, twine, and tissue paper were bound and assembled for this zero-waste project. All other elements were made from recycled paper.
